and supplemented her income by interpreting and translating for publishers,
government agencies, and businesses. Later, as an in-house language specialist
at Interag, an import-export company, she handled the daily correspondence
with German and English customers, translated sales and advertising material,
and provided interpretation services during negotiations and symposiums.
She was a liaison between the companies Interag represented in Hungary and
their Hungarian partners, attending to their language needs and taking increasing
responsibility for the commercial aspect of these relationships.

This latter job helped prepare her for the challenges of running a business.
At Accurapid/AB Typesetting, she oversees personnel, customer service,
and quality control. With a dedicated staff, she is constantly fine-tuning
these three areas. She believes in mutual respect, appreciation, and support
between employers and employees, bureaus and freelancers, customers, and
service providers as the basis for quality as a common goal. Her joy in
languages and quest for new knowledge makes the otherwise tedious tasks
of translation, editing, and proofreading a labor of love. She enjoys pulling
the different aspects of the team effort together into a final product both
Accurapid and the customer can be proud of.
Cathy is married to Gabe Bokor, with whom she
has a son, David. |
