Mary Beth Rathgeb

Mary Beth Rathgeb joined Accurapid in 1992 as an English-language proofreader. A Magna cum Laude graduate of SUNY Albany with a BA in Anthropology and English, her background was in medical publishing. In that field, mistakes do matter. A typo can literally be a matter of life and death.

Mary Beth brought her zeal for "making sure it's right" with her to Accurapid and now, as an Account Manager, has the same attitude toward every customer's job under her care. She assists clients with all phases of translation projects--from quotation, analysis, and project planning, to execution and quality assurance. Mary Beth is used to dealing with complex projects that include multiple languages and involve various linguists.

English-language editing and proofreading are other skills that she brings to Accurapid, both for translations and for clients wanting their copy to be reviewed before either translation or printing.

She is also in charge of screening vendors and managing the vendors' database, which she uses for pairing the best translators and editors for each particular job. With her high quality standards, Mary Beth doesn't consider a translation project finished until she's satisfied that it has been "done right." This includes post-project analysis, to see if there are ways to improve the handling of subsequent projects.
