Gabe Bokor Is Elected Treasurer of ATA

At the 50^th Annual Conference of the American Translators Association, held in New York City on October 28-31, 2009, Gabe was elected Treasurer. The Treasurer is a member of the four-member Executive Committee, which also includes the President, the President-Elect, and the Secretary.

Gabe Bokor Receives Fourth ATA Certification

Accurapid's President, Gabe Bokor, passed his fourth ATA Certification exam, from Spanish to English. Gabe was already certified from English to Portuguese, English to Spanish, and French to English.

Catherine Bokor Passes ATA Certification Exam

Accurapid's Vice President, Catherine Bokor, successfully sat for the Hungarian-to-English Certification Exam offered by the American Translators Association. The passing rate of ATA Certification Exam candidates is less than 20%.

Gabe Bokor Co-authors Patent Translation Handbook

Gabe Bokor is one of the authors of the new Patent Translation Handbook published by the American Translators Association. Gabe wrote the chapter about automotive patents describing the different systems of the modern automobile and providing a brief history of the automobile from "horseless carriage" to "computer on wheels."

Accurapid Buys the Assets of The Language Service

As of August 1^st, 2005, Accurapid has acquired the assets of the oldest translator-owned translation bureau in the United States, The Language Service. Having shared the same building and many resources for over 15 years, the friendship and cooperation between these two prestigious and traditional translation bureaus is culminating with Accurapid acquiring the assets of The Language Service. With its elite team of translators, expanded reference library, and the continuing cooperation of Mr. Henry Fischbach, Accurapid — The Language Service will offer enhanced services to its customers in the fields of medicine, pharmaceutics, and other healthcare-related areas.


Gabe Bokor Elected Director of the ATA

At the annual Conference of the American Translators Association, held in New Orleans, LA in November 2006, the President of Accurapid - The Language Service, Gabe Bokor, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association. Gabe had served two terms as a Director in 1986 - 1992, as the Administrator of the Science & Technology Division, Editor of the Division's newsletter, which he upgraded to Sci-Tech Translation Journal, Chair of the Ethics Committee, and as a member of several other committees.
