On the basis of this information Accurapid can usually provide you with a cost estimate. If you need a firm and binding quotation, send us the entire source text by fax (+1 845 473 4554), regular mail (to the address you’ll find on our Contact page), or e-mail (please ask for our e-mail address) if you have it in electronic form.

If you only send part of the text, we can give you a firm quote on the translation of the portion we have seen. It’s your responsibility to make sure that the part you sent us is representative of the entire text.

You can reduce the cost of your translation by:

marking the portions of the text that do not have to be translated (letterhead, inapplicable items in forms, tables, etc.); numerical tables keyed in by the translator cost you money even if they contain nothing to translate; discounts for repetitions apply only when the repetitions are clearly marked by the customer;

setting a reasonable deadline to avoid rush charges;

sending us the best available copy. If you only have a second- or third-generation copy or fax, send us the text by overnight mail rather than fax. We can’t translate a text we can’t read; and, if we have to decipher poorly legible handwriting on a non-contrasting background, we’ll have to charge you for the time wasted;

telling us if we don’t have to reproduce the format (tables, outlines, typestyle) of the original. We will always present the translation in a form that makes it easy to understand, but you may not need (or want to pay for) formatting “frills” that contribute nothing to the clarity of the text.
